ZOMER 2023 NIEUWSFLITS

Een tijdje terug volgde Katrien Van Paemel de VHYP Basisopleiding. Aangezien ze kon ervaren dat vele collega’s in de praktijk als zorgverstrekker geregeld geconfronteerd worden met psychosomatische klachten, wilde ze de VHYP-collega’s graag op de hoogte brengen van het feit dat ze met een vriendin een boek heeft uitgebracht over chronische pijn en aanhoudende lichamelijke klachten.

Het boek is een werkinstrument om met patiënten op een laagdrempelige manier aan het werk te gaan rond hun klachten: de materialen bestaan voornamelijk uit losse gespreksplaten met tekeningen en een korte uitleg op de achterkant.

De VHYP is trots om opnieuw een auteur in de rangen te mogen tellen. Het boek ‘Complexe Pijn – Wat je lichaam je vertellen wil’ is uitgegeven bij Gompel&Svacina en is een echte aanrader.

Het is een zeer aantrekkelijk werk dat je graag in de hand neemt. Ik (Nicole) zal het in een volgende VHYPNieuwsflits reviewen. Het lijkt alvast een absolute aanrader! Dus wie geïnteresseerd is, kan het al meteen aanschaffen

Jubileum jaar!

ISH bestaat dit jaar 50 jaar! Een gouden jubileum dat we uitgebreid vieren, zowel online als live.

De start van de viering vond plaats op zaterdag 1 juli. met een bijzonder online event: Hypnosis past – present and future.

The ISH board had the privilege of bringing together some of the past presidents of the International Society of Hypnosis. Personalities such as Eva Banyai, Karen Olness, Julie Linden, Bernhard Trenkle and Claude Virot shared their invaluable wisdom and unique perspectives on development, cooperation and collaboration in our field.

But that's not all: we also had the participation of current President Mark Jensen and future ISH

President Kzrysztof Klajs. Together, they discussed how to build bridges between hypnosis professionals from different countries, with the aim of building a better world.

On 12-15th of June 2024 we will meet in beautiful Krakow for the XXII World Congress of Medical and Clinical Hypnosis! The venue will be Auditorium Maximum, the conference center of the Jagiellonian University – the oldest higher education institution in Poland and one of the oldest in Europe Krakow is one of the best recognizable cities in this part of Europe, visited by about 13 million visitors annually. They are attracted by beautiful landscapes of the city, attractive streets, squares and the largest historical complex in Poland, unique on global scale. This city has an excellent accessibility – it is placed in the middle of Europe (~1500 km from Paris, ~1500 km from Moscow). There is an airport just 12 km west of the centre, a recently modernised train and bus station on the edge of the Old Town. Kracow has a very broad range of accommodation types: from 5-stars luxury hotels to the budget hostels.

ISH voorzitter Mark Jensen opent de Newsletter, met veel info over ons “jubileum” en hoe dit online en live gevierd wordt. Geeft anonimiteit minder remmingen? Kunnen we de mythes dat teletherapie minder goed werkt ontkrachten? Nieuwe namen of specialismen? Videotherapeut? Teletherapeut? Cybertherapeut? Research: In elk ISH Newsletter lees je een samenvatting van research rond een bepaald topic.

De ISH NL July 2023 geeft een overzicht van research bij IBS Irritable Bowel Syndrome of prikkelbare darm syndroom.

Het tijdschrift “International Journal of Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis” is het officiële tijdschrift van ISH, SCEH, en American Psychological Association Division 30. In het recent nummer van April -Juni 2023 lees je de resultaten van een internationaal onderzoek in 31 landen over huidige praktijken, ervaringen en visies op klinische hypnose.

Het ESH European Society of Hypnosis congres vindt plaats in Antalya Turkije van 26-29 Oktober 2023. Er zijn alvast enkele van onze vhyp leden die deelnemen.

Welcome to ESH 2023

We are very pleased to invite you to the XVI ESH Congress organized under the cooperation of the Society of Medical Hypnosis (THD) and the European Society of Hypnosis (ESH).

The Congress will take place in Antalya, Turkiye on October 26–29,  2023.

We are delighted to be encouraged by ESH for creating a common platform and network to share and improve the knowledge and experience of hypnosis in an international dimension.

The motto of the Congress is: “Hypnosis Food for Body and Mind: an Integrated Approach to Healing”.

It can be said that mind, body, and soul constitute a unique wholeness while interacting, connecting and changing each other. So, the healthier the balance among them, the healthier the entity is.  Hypnosis can provide an integrated approach to achieve this balance while bridging each variable in a harmonious and peaceful way. So, we would like to discuss together the use of hypnosis to achieve an integrated approach in Medicine, Dentistry and Psychology.

Our congress has been awarded ESH Certificate (ESHC) Credit Points by ESH.

Volgens de traditie begint de ESH NL met een woordje van de President Kathleen Long, gevolgd door de Editor’s letter Consuelo Casula. Er zijn uitgebreide interviews met nieuwe voorzitters van de Constituent Societies (CS) - zo leer je zowel de persoon als de vereniging kennen, hun activiteiten en specifieke accenten in de vereniging – In deze issue zijn dat Ayat Fakhtechs president BSMDH (UK), Martin Schmidt, president SMSH (Swiss), Lotta Lindgren, (SACH), Swedish Association for Clinical Hypnosis, en Marco Klop (IMHEL) Luxembourg.

In de rubriek continuïteit en innovatie lees je een interview met Enrico Facco – Prof in anesthesie en Intensieve zorgen in de univ van Padua (Italië) met 250 publicaties over bewustzijn, veranderde bewustzijnstoestanden, coma, hersendood, hypnose en ook traditionele acupunctuur.

Een kort citaat uit zijn artikel: “I participated in its 2009 update, establishing that the European dentist on graduation should be competent in both pharmacological and behavioral management of dental anxiety, phobia and orofacial pain. I also introduced hypnosis and iatrosedation in the Dental Clinic of my University (Padova) and in the specialization course on Sedation and Emergencies

Hypnotic analgesia is one of the most outstanding clinical effects of hypnosis, especially in surgery. In patients with a good hypnotic ability the induction of surgical analgesia calls for no more than 9 minutes (a time competitive with pharmacological anesthesia)”.

Abstract
State and nonstate theories of hypnosis have dominated the field for decades and helped advance hypnosis clinically and scientifically. However, they fall short in various ways including insufficient consideration of unconscious/experiential processes. The authors’ new theory is predicated on Epstein’s cognitive-experiential self-theory, a dual-process model that provides a comprehensive understanding of the rational system and the experiential system and highlights that, although they interact synergistically, their features and modes of operation differ greatly. The rational system, influenced by logic and reason, is demanding of cognitive resources and operates effortfully with minimal affect. In contrast, the experiential system is emotionally driven, associative, and encodes reality in images and feelings without conscious effort. Our theory, the adaptive experiential theory, posits that complex hypnotic responding is attributable to an individual’s ability to adapt and deliberately shift from processing primarily within the rational system to the experiential system. Greater association with the experiential system yields alterations in processing reality, which allows hypnotic suggestions to be internalized and enacted without excessive interference from the rational system.
